Return Flights

Checking in at Sal Airport for return journey to UK:

If you are with a tour company, they should be able to keep you updated before you either leave your hotel or arrive at the airport.

If you are not with a tour company you can ask the hotel reception staff to check for you, or look on the internet and website for the flight operator, then under 'timetable' or 'arrivals'.

Also please try and ensure that you are confirmed as being a passenger on the flight you have paid and booked for, there are some occasions here when this has been disputed, especially if booked at short notice. It may be lack of communication between various parties.

There may also be an opportunity to buy a last minute ticket on 'Standby', you will have to liaise with Thomsons (Tui) and wait until the last person has gone through to departures before you will be allowed to purchase a ticket (if there is a seat available).

Go online and compare online prices on the First Choice or Thomson websites you may find something cheaper.

At the airport - You can also check at the Information Desk in the main foyer area a Sal airport as to whether there is a flight delay, as the information boards aren’t always kept up to date.

You may be able to pay for an upgrade but you will have to check with the airline or tour operator. You can also check if this is available when checking in at Sal airport.

Once you have checked in and you have enough time, you don’t have to go immediately through Passport Control, you can go back into the foyer area and use the shops or café. NOTE: There aren't any meals served in the cafe on the other side of Pasport Control so you may want to eat before going through. It could be a long and boring wait if the flight is delayed, as you can't leave that area.

The café in the foyer of the airport has more choice in refreshments and meals, food is reasonable and so are the prices. There is also a small snack bar upstairs which has a few more choices.

Please leave any reading material for expats (even if its two weeks old).....thank you.
