Partnerships

Check out partnerships/ ownerships. Enquire about this if you are setting up a business or buying a dwelling with someone else. The law is different in Cape Verde.

Also check how to ensure if one partner wants to sell part of the business or convert part of the property into a bar, whether they need your permission or can they just do it.

Check this out with the solicitors/lawyers that specialize in buying properties abroad, before you sign anything, or better still before you go out there to buy. Also understand there is another law about setting up a business with a Cape Verdean Partner for certain activities.

Don't forget to have a contract which should be legaly checked and also about setting up a 'will'.
